COLD LASER

NEW! COLD LASER THERAPY

cold laser1

A recently approved FDA procedure.  This is a cold laser with no heat properties. It can not burn or cut you like a surgical hot laser.  It stimulates the cells to produce more energy.  Used for years in Europe, now available in the United States. Non Surgical Pain Relief for both long lasting and recent conditions.  This is the same laser used on the US Postal Team and Team Discovery during the 2001-2006 Tour De France, several NFL and NBA franchises, Tiger Woods to treat chronic and acute pain in some of the top athletes in the world.

Cold Laser Therapy is an excellent treatment that is utilized to treat a wide array of conditions and pain. This therapy allows the body to naturally heal itself by utilizing the energy in the low level laser.

How Does It Work? ERCHONIA Lasers emit visible coherent light that is applied to the affected area.  Bundles of light energy pass through the dermal layers, and are received within the cell membrane by specific energy photo acceptors.  The increase in intra-cellular energy results in altered cell membrane permeability, and physiological changes occur though an enzyme cascade to affect several biological processes.  Within the injured musculoskeletal tissue, low level laser light initiates increased microcirculation and enhanced tissue regeneration. The overall effects are decreased pain and inflammation, and increased range of motion.

In addition to back and neck pain, cold laser therapy has been utilized for a number of inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, tendonitis and sprains. The number of conditions that have been notably increased in the usage of this therapy include carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fascitis, wound management, shoulder and neck injuries, muscle and joint pain.

Not all lasers are the same, this office uses the Erchonia 635 nanometer 5 milliwatt laser.  This is the laser used in the FDA studies, the same laser used by professional athletes, teams, and dcotors who treat them.

Dr. Jeffrey Spencer ( left )  during one of our many training sessions together

His knowledge on the use of the laser inspired me to learn all I could.  I have advanced certification

through many weekends of training with Dr. Spencer.   He was team physician to the Tour De France US Postal team and Team Discovery.
